Organic Sangiovese & Tempranillo Wines from TuscanyBeconcini Wines is the first and only winery in Tuscany to produce wines from this precious, century-old grape variety, with historical roots deeply embedded in San Miniato.

The story of Beconcini Wines began in the early 1950s, when Leonardo’s grandfather achieved the remarkable feat of purchasing the land where he had long worked with his family as a sharecropper under the Marchesi Ridolfi.
They only grow organically, indigenous red and white grape varieties: Sangiovese, Malvasia nera, Canaiolo, Colorino, Trebbiano, Malvasia bianca, Colombana, other less common Tuscan grapes varieties and an ancient ungrafted unknown red grape variety that we discovered to be Tempranillo, thanks to the DNA analysis in 2004. Since 1993, these vines were simply referred to as "X". Our goal is to produce wines with great personality: we are custodians of History, Sangiovese and native Tuscan grape varieties, but we have created also another great story to tell about Pre-phylloxera Tempranillo in Tuscany!
