Each week, we feature one of The Belfry Inne's unique rooms. Complete with pictures, fun facts, and extra travel tips, our Room Spotlights are designed to help you find the perfect room for your Cape Cod getaway- and to also serve as a medium for showing off to your friends.
This week, we're touring another room in The Abbey: The Belfry's most iconic building. If you don't know already, The Abbey is a church that has been completely renovated with a gourmet restaurant downstairs and seven luxury guest rooms upstairs.
Each of The Abbey's rooms is named for one of the six days of creation from the Book of Genesis and The Tuesday Room is inspired by "The Division of Sky and Water." This is one of the most favorited rooms at the Belfry, so let's get right into it!

The Tuesday Room definitely knows how to make an entrance. While the Abbey is filled with all sorts of stained glass, the biggest and most elaborate stained glass window in the entire building is right here. It looks amazing with the summer sunlight gleaming through, but it looks even more stunning under a full moon. The colors in the glass create a gentle glow that serves as the most ornate night light you've ever had in your life.

While we're still on the subject of lights and windows, I should mention that the unique and classic beauty doesn't end at the stained glass. The Tuesday Room has a high, vaulted ceiling complete with TWO skylights, ceiling fan, and a gorgeous cathedral-style hanging lamp. So whether you need a little extra light to relax in bed with a book, or if you want to glance at the stars through the skylight, we've got you covered.

I know I talk about this in every room spotlight, but it's still so important! EVERY room in The Abbey has its own private deck complete with two patio chairs and a small table. This is a feature you won't find at just any other B&B, so take full advantage of it.

Sure, the deck is perfect for warm summer nights, but if it gets a bit chillier (fall is right around the corner!), what's better than curling up next to the fire with a cup of tea? Even during those torrential summer thunderstorms, there's nothing cozier than spending a night in with someone you love.

One of my favorite things about the Belfry is the attention to detail. Every room is furnished with one-of-a-kind pieces that tie in perfectly with the attitude and aura of the room. The Tuesday Room is no exception with this beautiful, blue, vintage-inspired lamp and the rustic, antique armoire.

And last, but not least, we just have to talk about the bathroom. At the Belfry, we pride ourselves on providing only the best in relaxation. Thanks to the Ultra Bain air jet tub in the Tuesday Room's bathroom, you can relax and rejuvenate in what will probably be the best hotel tub you've ever had the pleasure of staying in. If you're in a rush to get to the rest of your vacation plans, there's also a shower.

If you want to try out The Tuesday Room, give us a call at 508-888-8550. You know you want to!

By this point, I'm sure you're aware of how amazing the gourmet meals at the Belfry Bistro are. Our awards, reviews, and faithful customers speak for themselves, but there's one thing that may create a bit of a problem for us: our food is just SO good and SO high-quality that we may scare away the "I just want a quick cheeseburger" family crowd.
I mean, let's face it. While you might love to pop open a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and savor every last bite of your 5-Spiced Long Island Duck Breast, some of us are partial to good old, down-home American cuisine- especially your kids.
Thankfully, the Belfry Bistro has something for everyone! So instead of spending most of your Cape Cod getaway at the local fast food joint trying to find something your family will actually eat, bring them to the Belfry instead! In addition to gourmet favorites like the Braised Beef Short Ribs or the Dayboat Chatham Codfish, try out some of our lighter fare options such as:
- Bistro Statler Chicken Breast with Herb Roasted Potatoes and Pancetta Jus
- Grilled Bistro Burger with your choice of toppings
- Classic Fish'n'Chips
- Atlantic Salmon Salad
...and so much more!
So if you're looking for a great place to eat in Sandwich where you can try something new and still keep the picky eaters in your family happy, stop by the Bistro for a fulfilling, no-complaint meal that won't cost an arm and a leg!

When most people think "wine tasting," they think of a gathering of pretentious people sipping on some mediocre wines while making small talk.
At the Belfry Bistro, we like to redefine wine tastings and make them something you actually want to attend- not just something your significant other guilted you into or something you do out of pure boredom.
So here's why we think you should ditch your normal Wednesday night routine (which, by the way, you don't have one), and stop by the Belfry for a drink with us instead.
1. You don't have anything else going on.
As I said before, our tastings are on Wednesdays which means they're the perfect opportunity to relax and take a breather before you continue on with the rest of your workweek. We won't interfere with your weekend plans (unless you decide to come back for dinner on Saturday night...) nor will we keep you out too late.
2. Our wine selections beat the local bar's by far.
We feature four new, refreshing wines each week. You won't see any grocery store brands here- only carefully hand picked selections that you'll definitely miss when dining somewhere else. In the past we've featured selections from vineyards all over the country, and sometimes we even have the winemaker stop by for the tasting!
3. Making friends is fun, right?
Tastings at the Belfry are not your typical awkward get togethers, so there's no small-talk necessary. Feel free to either stick by your party or branch out and meet some new people. The Belfry is known for it's comfortable, "at-home" atmosphere, and that feeling definitely comes through at the tastings. Make sure to bring a camera and share your event pictures with us on our Facebook page!
So, what are YOU doing Wednesday night? If these reasons didn't convince you, check out our schedule and selections list.

As we've mentioned before, the Belfry is not your typical inn. We don't really believe in beige walls, standard showers, or seemingly cloned guest rooms; oh no. We understand that you want accomodations that suit your style and personal needs. Seriously, we've got something for everyone in every possible occasion.
Whether it's your wedding night, some long-overdue alone time, or maybe you just wanted a weekend away from the kids, The Abbey is where you'll want to be. I know the whole "church" feel might make you a bit uncomfortable at first, but once you pass through the doors, you'll forget you're in a once-sacred building and be immediately blown away by the unique, fairytale-worthy decor.
PERSONAL SPA
No more low-pressure showerheads or tiny tubs! Each room in The Abbey is complete with only the best private bathroom facilities. Enjoy the Tuesday Room's whirlpool tub which can comfortably hold two people, relax and rejuvenate all your senses with the Wednesday Room's Vedana Spa Unit, or let all your stress melt away with the John Drew Room's (The Painted Lady) jacuzzi tub. With ammenities like these, you'll never want to leave your room!
RUSTIC FIREPLACES
While it might be too hot to even consider lighting a fire in this weather, you have to admit that there's nothing more romantic than cuddling up next to the fire with someone you love. If you find yourself at The Belfry during one of the colder seasons, take advantage of the beautiful gas fireplaces that can be found in the Sara Drew Room (The Painted Lady), the Thursday Room, or the Friday Room.
EUPHORIC DELICACIES
Some chefs claim there are certain foods that help "set the mood," but let's be honest: ALL of our mouth-watering dishes will make anyone happy. So either make a reservation for a dinner date at The Belfry Bistro, or call the front desk to have something yummy brought up to your room to enjoy in a more intimate setting. Not to mention, we have quite the wine selection if you find yourself feeling a bit thirsty.
So skip the cheap motel or the local Budget Inn and book your next romantic retreat at The Belfry. We're committed to making your stay perfect, stress-free, and something you'll never forget.

You know you love the food, drink, and amazing atmosphere the Belfry Inne and Bistro is so well known for, but did you ever think we'd be rated as one of the best in all of New England? Neither did we!
This past week, Open Table (one of the web's most trusted restaurant review sites) made their annual lists of the best American Restaurants in the country in honor of the July 4th holiday, and the Belfry Bistro came in a humble 6th place (out of ALL of New England)! While our menu is definitely not your basic, All-American faire, we are proud that our unique, delicious, and truly classic dishes have won over so many positive reviews.
Here are some of our favorites:
"We really enjoyed the Belfry Inn during our recent vacation on Cape Cod. The setting is unique and very warm in a converted Catholic church. We were promptly and warmly greeted and shown to our table right away. Our meals were absolutely top notch - something for every taste - and I had the best tuna dish I think I have ever had. The service was very good and not obtrusive. This place was a great "find" for us and we highly recommend it."
"We had brunch on a perfect sunny Sunday in the Belfry's outdoor patio. It was a beautiful oasis. There was an outstanding guitarist playing who perfected what was already a serene venue. The food was great; the service excellent. We've eaten indoors on several occasions and thoroughly enjoy its unique atmosphere."
"We were greeted at the door with a cheerful "Happy Anniversary!" and were given a wonderful table for two. Our waitress, Kerry, was attentive, patient and eager to answer the several questions we had regarding a particular wine and one of the entrees. She even took the time to ask the bartender to write down the ingredients for the great martini I had! The food....FABULOUS as always."
At the Belfry, we welcome and appreciate ALL feedback, so feel free to tell us about your experience on our Open Table page, Yelp, or by giving us a call.

While we may like to remind tourists that Sandwich, MA is a history and quaint Cape Cod town and NOT something that can be ordered on rye, there is one time every year we embrace the synonymous term: Sandwich Fest!

Once a year, people from all over (including the locals) travel far and wide to find the answer to the age-old question: Who has the best sandwich in Sandwich?
With some of the best restaurants on the Cape taking part, the competition is stiff. We're up against favorites like the British Beer Company, Cafe Chew, and Momo's, but here's to hoping we can bring the trophy back this year and win those bragging rights for the whole year.
Even if you're not a sandwich person, there's plenty of non-edible fun for the whole family to enjoy; children's activities, live musical performances, local artists and craftsmen, a family sing-along, and even a costume parade!

We'll be back to report on all the delicious festivities next week, but in the meantime, you can check out Sandwich Fest's official website or check out some of our menus here if you feel like getting a preview of the future Sandwich Fest champions.
And don't forget to stop by! The tasty celebration takes place on SATURDAY, JUNE 30 2012 from 10AM - 4PM in Sandwich Village (Jarves & Main Streets).
See you there!

There is no better way to taste the season of Cape Cod than to visit the Belfry Inne & Bistro! Executive Chef Benjamin Porter has artfully crafted a fall menu which will make your taste buds jump. Dishes such as Pan Seared Chatham Codfish (featured on the Cape Cod restaurant week menu; pictured upper left) and our mouth watering Almond Crusted Goat Cheese Salad (pictured upper right) are two of our favorite meals to get our 'greens' for the day.
When in the mood for the freshest local Cape Cod seafood, we turn our palettes over to the Seafood Risotto. Boasting with color and flavor, it is a dish enjoyed by many which could steal your eyes away from an accompanying sunset.
(pictured below)
The Belfry's food is not just your ordinary, as some have referred to it as 'blessed'. We feature only fresh locally grown ingredients and strive to support Cape Cod farmers & fishermen. A splendid pairing of local ingedients can be found by a single glimpse at the Local Greens Salad. We use seasonal vegetables and dress them with homemade sherry vinaigrette (pictured bottom).
Come experience the Belfry Inne & Bistro's this season before the menu changes with the seasons!
